Josh Blackwell for Derelicte

When I see black plastic bags I think of Morocco. Many rural landowners seem to mark their territory with an old black plastic bag trapped under a rock. In an otherwise pale and natural landscape they stand out, dark and flapping in the wind. Those bags that escape and the others just lying around seem to collect on trees and bushes. I suppose its all trash in the end, but theres something a bit more charming about litter that comes in one shape and color.

Josh Blackwell's art praises plastic bag beauty, adorning used shopping bags with colorful embroidery. Not sure what I'd use these for but man they are eye catching.

I wonder what Mugatu would think.
